Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences
Serving the sciences of clinical determination
Built upon the foundations of biology and chemistry, Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences provides an experiential human-based education in biomedical, imaging and clinical sciences. Using clinical perspectives to develop critical thinking, teamwork and communication skills, you will be prepared for a variety of health careers or advanced graduate education such as M.D., D.O., PA, Pharm.D., DDS, DVM, etc. We offer programs at the bachelor’s and master’s level, as well as certificates.
The Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).

Welcome to the Department of Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences (CDS). “Serving the sciences of clinical determination,” our bachelor’s degree program offers seven distinct specializations. Each track aligns with specific career pathways, providing students with a strong academic foundation to succeed as professionals in the academic or medical communities. At the graduate degree level, our Master of Physician Assistant Science program prepares individuals for licensure and entry into the physician assistant profession through theoretical, clinical practice, and research courses and experiences. Student recruitment for this program will begin in the Fall of 2022, with the first cohort to commence October 2023, pending ARC-PA approval.
We have a longstanding reputation for educating well-prepared professionals. Through rigorous coursework, clinical laboratory experiences and innovative biomedical research opportunities, students will obtain the high-tech knowledge and skills needed to directly enter the workforce upon graduation or pursue post-graduate professional degrees.
We strive for a student population that reflects a diverse community, incorporating the strengths of many cultures, age groups, perspectives, and learning styles into the curriculum. Our dedicated faculty form meaningful connections with students, and offer supportive guidance and mentorship.

Acceptance into internship programs is competitive and is based on grade point average, personal interview and letters of recommendation. The application process for each of the specializations is unique. It is recommended that students have a 3.00 overall GPA for application to any of the six specializations. Students are advised to carefully read about their chosen specialization.
Deadlines
To be accepted into a clinical specialization internship, students must submit a formal application for each program for which they seek consideration.
- Applications for the histotechnology internship programs are processed in the winter semester of the sophomore year (or following completion of the CDS core curriculum).
- Application for nuclear medicine internships are processed during the winter semester of the junior year.
- Application for the MLS internships are processed during the summer prior to the senior year.
- Applications to the Radiologic Technology program are processed during Winter semester of sophomore year.
