JULY/AUGUST 2023

  • Selection of Strategic Planning Facilitator
  • Introduction of the process to OU Leadership
  • Selection of Strategic Planning Oversight Committee, Strategic Planning Leadership Team and Strategic Planning Communications Advisory Team

SEPTEMBER: Visioning and four-phase planning process (NOTE: More than 300 faculty, staff and students involved.)

  • Campus Announcement: State of the University
  • Information sessions
  • SPLT convenes with charge from the President
  • Phase I begins: Environmental Scan, SWOT Analysis

NOVEMBER 2023 – FEBRUARY 2024

  • Phase I work is completed
  • Phase II begins: Theme Teams
  • Identify, discuss, and recommend themes/specific initiatives 

FEBRUARY – MAY

  • Theme teams met to present recommendations/suggestions to SPOC and the president regarding potential initiatives.

JUNE 2024

  • SPOC  reviewed the recommendations along with the SPLT.  

JULY 2024

  • SPOC presented recommendations to the president. 

JULY-AUGUST 2024 

  • The president reviewed the recommendations and identified five pillars, initiatives based on recommendations from SPOC. 
  • Findings were presented to the Exec Leadership Council (Deans & Others) for feedback. 

SEPTEMBER 2024

  • Feedback from Deans and others was reviewed and final stages of initiatives are being made by the president. 

NEXT STEPS

  • Pillar initiatives approval.
  • Initiative Worksheets (initiative business plans) 
  • Prioritization of Initiatives based on worksheets (budget, timeline, metrics, etc.) 
  • Final Plan developed in fall/early winter for 2025 rollout.
